The American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers has released the results of a survey regarding women and child support payments.
The results show that in the past three years, the amount women making monthly child support payments has increased. Of the lawyers that were surveyed, 56 percent of them noted that they saw a large increase in the number of women supporting their children after a divorce.
During that same three year period, 44 percent of the attorneys also saw a rise in women making alimony payments to their former spouses. Although, men still earn more than women across the board in the United States, a shift in financial income in modern households may contribute to this overall child support transition.
